We are fourth-generation farmers. Our vines, planted in 1985, draw from the rich soils of the Great Southern region of Western Australia. We produce award-winning cool climate Riesling, Chardonnay, Shiraz and Cabernet.
Our cellar door and cafe are located 10 min north of Mt Barker of Albany Hwy. With stunning views of the Porongorups, artwork from local artists, and a culinary garden to stroll through, Gilberts is the perfect place for a long lunch, a quick bite or a lazy afternoon of wine and cheese... Hawker Ridge Wines is a family-owned and operated vineyard, situated in Kendenup, Western Australia in the Mt Barker wine district. The vineyard is a few quiet kilometres from the Kendenup township, 70 kilometres north of Albany and the Southern Ocean, and 20 kilometres from Mt Barker. The climate is cool and dry with warm summers.
From the vineyard, there are sensational views north-east to the Stirling Ranges and south-east to the Porongurups. Gentle sea breezes blow from the southwest and southeast, and on summer evenings cool air flows down from the slopes of the Stirling Ranges. The vineyard sits atop a local high point on well-drained gravelly loam, rich in lime and free of salt. It is an ideal location for growing cool-climate Shiraz and Riesling.
We first planted vines of Shiraz and Riesling at Hawker Ridge in September 2001, and the first vintages were harvested in 2004. Our wines are made in Mt Barker by acclaimed winemaker Mike Garland.
Castle Rock Estate is nestled on the eastern slopes of the Porongurup Range and is named after a prominent nearby landmark, in the Great Southern wine region of Western Australia. The vineyard has a cool and elevated north-easterly aspect, resulting in intensely flavoured wines, particularly Riesling,
Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Castle Rock Estate was established in 1983 by Angelo and Wendy Diletti and is now run by their son Rob.
Plantagenet Wines embodies the best of Western Australia with its distinctive wines of finesse and elegance.
Three drops make for perfection. Take one drop of luxurious olive oil, a drop of delightful wine and blend with a drop of clear spring water. The result is 3drops, Mount Barker's premium producer of wine and olive oil.
The creation of 3drops has been an evolutionary process. It started life as a traditional Mount Barker family farm where 3drops owner Joanne Bradbury grew up and over the years has been crafted to become one of WA's most acclaimed producers of olive oil and distinctive regional wines.
3drops is situated at Mount Barker, in the heart of the Western Australia's Great Southern wine region. The original 3drops vineyard comprises 15 fertile hectares. The 1982 planted Patterson vineyard was acquired by 3drops in 2007 and together these vineyards provide a range of premium fruit for our range of wines.
3drops is fortunate to have a long-standing team of Viticulturist, Ray Williams and Winemaker, Rob Diletti.
Ray was responsible for planting our Wragg Road vineyard 22 years ago. Since that time Ray has undertaken all 3drops viticulture including management of our older Patterson vineyard. Rob Diletti, one of WA's most highly regarded winemakers, has been expertly crafting our wines since 2003.
Poacher's Ridge is a family-owned and operated vineyard just outside of Mount Barker, in the Great Southern town of Narrikup. With only 20 acres under vine, we're about the smallest single estate vineyard you can find, and located in one of the world's largest wine regions. As much as possible, we take a minimalist approach and hand tend the vines that we quite literally live by. With this philosophy, we produce exceptional cool-climate wines, driven by the terroir, governed by the seasons and a faithful expression of the land we call home.
The amazing views of the Stirling Range inspired the name ARCADIA, much used in Greek and Roman poetry as a place where people were believed to enjoy the perfect life. For us, it's a place to enjoy good wine, good food and good friends. The ever-changing panorama of the Stirling Range makes for the perfect setting in which to do just that.
When we first travelled to Kendenup we discovered our own piece of rural paradise. ARCADIA is a family run single vineyard on Red Gum Pass Road, Kendenup Western Australia. The vineyard was first planted in 1997 on slopes that dip into the picturesque creek known locally as Dead Man’s Creek.
This runs on the 2nd Saturday of each month from 9am - 1pm.
